CLARIAH Toog day (2017)
|Date||Friday 10 March 2017|
|Time||10:00 - 17:00|
1019 AT Amsterdam
As a project, CLARIAH is halfway; the current phase will end at the beginning of 2019. The main goal of this "Toog Dag" is to show the audience the current state of the project, what has been done so far and the initiatives for the coming period:
- what has been done?
- what is available right now?
- who is using the CLARIAH-infrastructure?
The Keynote speaker is still a secret: more info will come soon.
Access to Cultural Heritage data
We want to present a number of content providers who will tell what they can offer the humanity scholars, and under which conditions. They will show what they already do with Humanity/CLARIAH scholars. This part of the program is partly inspired by the story of one of those content providers who was surprised by the fact that researchers don't know the way to find them: they always go to the curators of the heritage institutions. Heritage institutions obviously do have (the rights of) the data, but normally don't have an easy and structured way to offer it to scholars.
To clarify what is happening inside the CLARIAH-community there will be a demonstration session during the lunch break where various researchers from the humanities and the computer sciences, will demonstrate what already can be done.
Finally, the projects granted for the CLARIAH Research Pilot will give a short pitch about their projects.
