Task 3.1 from SSHOC-NL are happy to announce their first half-day workshop on "tools for data enrichment and their evaluation" (https://enrichment.ivdnt.org/)! In this workshop they launch the GaLAHaD (Generating Linguistic Annotations for Historical Dutch) and LAnCeLoT (Linguistic Annotation Corpus Laundry Tool) platforms, which allow you to automatically enrich historical Dutch data with linguistic information such as word classes and lemmata, compare different parsers against a gold standard dataset, and manually correct the suggested annotations. In the hands-on part of the workshop you'll learn to use these tools and, importantly, how to decide which parser is best for your use-case by comparing evaluation results. In addition, Alexandra Simonenko and Yiming Liang of Ghent University are invited speakers to talk about the ERC project CAUSALITY, which investigates language changes through simulation, alongside our very own Ellie Smith, who will introduce our Task 3.1.

The workshop takes place in Leiden in-person on April 9th in the afternoon (13:45-17:00). Afterwards there is ample time for networking with drinks. The event is free but registration is required. Places are limited so please register as soon as possible!
