Dirk van Miert is director of the Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands, of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and Associate Professor of Early Modern Cultural History. He specializes in the history of knowledge. He supervises a large research ERC Consolidator project about the Republic of Letters.
