Jetze Touber is a historian by training, who defended his PhD thesis at the University of Groningen in 2009. Subsequently, he spent a decade doing research and teaching, in temporary positions at the universities of Utrecht, Amsterdam and Ghent. Along the way, he engaged with a wide range of humanities disciplines, including philosophy, religious studies, art history, Italian studies, and Dutch literature. As of 2015 he became interested in the Digital Humanities. After reschooling as an information professional, from 2019 to 2022 he worked as an information manager and data analyst at NWO (the Dutch Research Council). Currently he holds the position of Data Station Manager Humanities at DANS, the Dutch centre of expertise and repository for research data.
