Plenary interviews
The plenary sections of the day included talks with an expert on coinage, Marcel van der Beek, and with the director of the Dutch National Archives, Afelonne Doek and Dirk van Miert, director Huygens Institute and Principal Investigator of CLARIAH.
Heritage Host
The conference started with an introduction about the conference's location. Muntgebouw Utrecht is of general interest for its cultural-historical value, connected to the history of Dutch coinage. Chairperson Kirsten Paulus spoke with Marcel van der Beek, former curator at Het Nederlands Muntmuseum and Het Geldmuseum, and currently working as an expert at Heritage Auctions Europe.

State of Affairs
Regarding the current state of affairs around CLARIAH and digital heritage, Kirsten Paulus talked with Afelonne Doek and Dirk van Miert. Together they answered questions such as: how do academic researchers and heritage professionals meet and exchange their knowledge and expertise? What are examples of fruitful collaborations and why? Where are there still many bridges to be built?
